The highly successful racing career of Fernando Alonso

Fernando Alonso is by far one of the most successful racing drivers to have ever graced our screens. During his time on the Formula One tracks of the world he gathered a total of 32 victories and took the top place podium position in his home country of Spain back in the Spring of 2013. Some fans will have seen his win whilst enjoying the luxury of the F1 Paddock Club Spain that you can see at https://edgeglobalevents.com/f1-paddock-club/f1-paddock-club-spain/

Here are some racing facts about this incredible driver.

  • Alonso started his career off on 2001 driving for Minardi which was one of the lesser known teams and is no longer racing today in its original format. He also spent these first two years test driving for both Renault and Benetton and it was the Renault team that he finally signed with back in 2003.
  • During the next year of racing Alonso successfully raced alongside the likes of Ferrari, Williams and McLaren and gave the drivers of these more well-established teams a run for their money.
  • In the two-year period of 2005 and 2006 he achieved an incredible 14 wins for the Renault team and began to take his place as one of the all-time great Formula One racing car drivers.
  • It was back in 2007, as the current Formula One champion that Alonso signed a contract to drive with McLaren alongside Lewis Hamilton. These two drivers should have been an unstoppable team, but as is sometimes the case with competitive sports men the friction between the two drivers was evident both on and off the track. This culminated in 2007 on the Hungarian track when Alonso took longer than necessary to pit his car, which in turn had an impact on Hamilton. The result was a podium win for Alonso but he was issued a five place grid penalty and the team were also penalised fifteen points. It was clear to everyone that these two drivers we unable to work together as teammates. However, things descended into even more chaos finally seeing Alonso removed from the team and McLaren being fined a staggering $100 million fine.
  • In 2008 Alonso returned to his former Renault team and then moved to Ferrari just two years later. Again, these turned out to be more turbulent years for the racer and he eventually moved back to Renault once again in 2015 and finally retired as a racer from this team.

Despite some turbulent years as a racer and a lot of controversy particularly during his years as a team mate to Lewis Hamilton, Alonso will still be fondly remembered as one of Formula One’s racing legends.

How to successfully teach rugby

Excitement about the game of rugby will continue to build over the coming weeks as the Rugby World Cup in Japan approaches, and its legacy will likely be an increasing demand for grassroots teaching as boys and girls from primary school’s upwards dream of emulating their heroes. Solid teaching requires the engagement of players across all ages and skill levels.

Cover the basics

Primary school aged children should start with ball skills around passing and catching the ball, as the contact element of the sport comes much later on. Games like tag rugby are a great way to start learning the basic skills and improve agility and stamina. Coloured bands tucked into shorts replace the tackle; when a band is removed, the player must pass the ball within three seconds. This version works particularly well in primary schools because it means that girls and boys of all abilities can play together – perfect for PE classes.

Low-impact is the next stage – still with no scrums or ‘real’ tackles – where a player must pass the ball when touched with two hands. This allows players to build their confidence before undertaking the full contact version of the sport.

Improve skills

By the time players reach secondary school, the focus moves towards technique, though that should not be at the expense of fun. Skills become more important when the pitches get bigger! The need for education around safety is vital to prevent injury, especially once contact comes into play, and whilst there is a place for protective equipment, it should not be encouraged at the expense of playing safely.

Videos can be a useful aid to explain concepts before trying them out in practice on the field and rugby training drill videos can be watched at Sportplan. They can also help when it comes to explaining some of the finer points of the game.

For a good beginner’s guide to the sometimes complicated rules of rugby, see the information from England Rugby, and this can be used to support rugby training drill videos.
Of course, the World Cup offers teaching opportunities beyond the game itself, such as looking up the participating countries on a map, writing match reports or designing a new strip for a club. The key is building a long-term interest in the game that will last for years to come.

Discount Sporting Goods

Skis, shoes, weights, helmets and other equipment all come with a high price tag, but you don’t have to let the cost of sporting equipment keep you from enjoying the activities that you love. If you’re passionate about a sport, there are plenty of ways that you can get the items that you need for low cost or no cost at all.

The first way to save money on sporting goods is to borrow it from friends or family. If you need skis for a weekend, see if you can borrow them from someone you know. Borrowing equipment works best if you are trying out an activity that you’ve never tried before or that you do infrequently. It can get annoying if you are constantly borrowing someone else’s equipment, but it’s an option if you really need some equipment in the short term.

If you decide that you need equipment too frequently to be able to borrow it, you can look at yard sales, Craigslist or online auctions to find equipment for low prices. When you go this route, you can sometimes find high quality equipment for bargain basement prices.

When you are buying used equipment, make sure to put it through its paces. Get on a treadmill and run on it. Assemble and disassemble each combination on a set of dumbbells. Bounce on the trampoline. Make sure that the equipment you are buying can stand up to normal wear and tear. This way you won’t have any surprises when you get home and try to use the equipment.

Your other option for inexpensive sporting equipment is to be a smart shopper and look for equipment at discount stores. If you aren’t a professional and only take part in activities casually, you can get by with cheaper brands with less quality construction.

Most mega-mart discount type stores carry good basic equipment for whatever activity you’re interested in. But if you’re an avid fisherman or bowler, for example, you’ll want to pay more for higher quality equipment. You can do so without spending a whole lot of money by watching for sales at sporting goods stores. You can often find good deals at the beginning or end of the season. Watch for markdowns on your favorite items and snatch them up when you get the chance.

Sometimes the best way to save money on sporting goods is by investing in quality equipment. As counter-intuitive as that sounds, you’ll pay less in the long run if you buy equipment that will last a long time. You can research and save for a major purchase, and then buy it only when it’s offered in the store at a discount or online with a coupon code. When you buy something that will last you years (instead of equipment that will break in a few months) you’re actually saving yourself money.

You should never let money stop you from trying something new or taking part in your favorite activity. By shopping carefully, paying attention to sales or saving up to purchase high-quality equipment, you can save money on sporting equipment of all kinds.

The Reasons for Purchasing High Quality Sports Equipment

Finding the proper outdoor sports equipment is essential if you want to truly enjoy your outdoor experience, as this will ensure that you are fully prepared for these activities. While it can be fun to simply play outside and enjoy the fresh air, having these devices can make this entire scenario even more enjoyable because you will be able to participate in certain activities without having anything go wrong. Airsoft and fishing are two sports that require this sports equipment because they make these activities both safer and more enjoyable for all who are involved.

Airsoft is a game that is quickly increasing in popularity, as it mimics various military situations, but keeps everyone safe in the process. This is a thrilling sport that can be played almost anywhere, as this outdoor sports equipment is completely safe.

The weapons that are used are almost exact replicas of military weapons but, of course, they will not hurt anyone who comes into contact with them. If you are able to pick up the full gear, you will feel as though you are in the heat of a battle and it will definitely get your adrenaline pumping in a hurry. Of course, you will be aware that you are not in any real danger, but, just like other sports, it will bring out your competitive side in a hurry.

Fishing is another thing that requires the right outdoor sports equipment, as each piece of equipment has its own unique role. For starters, you will need a fishing rod, as this is essential for any fishing trip. In addition, a variety of lures should be added to your sporting equipment, as you never know what the fish will be attracted to on any given day. A variety of weights and some good fishing line are essential for any fishing trip, as these items will help you to not only get to the right depth in the water, but also will ensure that the fish does not escape once it is hooked. Finally, a fishing net must be part of your outdoor sports equipment, as this net will help you to get the fish into the boat once you have reeled it in close enough.

All of this outdoor sports equipment is available in various places, although it is usually best to go through a specialty store because they will have higher quality merchandise. This is particularly true if you have specific sporting equipment that you are looking for, as larger stores will simply carry the most popular models and these models are usually out of date for the avid outdoorsman. In the end, it is always best to go all out and pick up some high quality sports equipment because this will ensure that you do not run into any problems with your equipment while you are out in the bush. After all, once you are out there, you will not want to return to town because your equipment has failed you.

Why Sports Equipment Is A Big Deal

The sports equipment industry generates billions of dollars each and every year. There are dozens of popular sports throughout the world, and dozens more that are not so well known; and each one of requires its own unique equipment and accessories. Because there are so many sporting activities, manufacturers are constantly needing to churn out the necessary gear in order to keep up with the demand. And because the demand is so high, these same companies are able to generate considerable profits.

It is a well-known fact that some sports are simply more popular than others. And what’s more, the popularity of any given sporting activity can vary considerably from one country to the next. Most major sporting goods manufacturers understand this concept and adjust their sales and marketing powers according to the preferred athletics of a given region of the world. Football (American), for instance, is arguably the most popular team sport in The United States. However, outside of America, it goes largely unnoticed. Football equipment makers therefore focus the vast majority of their marketing on athletes that live in America in order to take advantage of the sport’s widespread appeal in this country.

Soccer, by comparison, has only recently begun to catch on in this country, and as such most of the marketing done by soccer equipment manufacturers has been focused outside of this country. Sports equipment for other games such as rugby and cricket can also be hard to find in this country, because these sports do not enjoy as much popularity here as they do elsewhere in the world. However, throughout many other parts of the world (in the case of soccer, most of the world) these sports are hugely popular; and as a result, equipment manufacturers generate hundreds of millions of dollars through their marketing efforts outside of America.

In The United States, most popular sports equipment can be purchased through a local vendor. Just about every major city and town in America has at least one available sporting goods store, and in some cases there are several local available options. These retailers usually focus on providing equipment for those sports that are most common in this country, namely football, basketball, and baseball. However, many of the larger stores will also carry a variety of equipment for other lesser-known games such as lacrosse, hockey, and soccer; although it should be noted that all three of these sports have gained a much wider audience in this country over the last decade or so.

Used or New Sporting Equipment

It is no joke that sports equipment can be highly expensive. And when a family has several kids in several different sports, it can sure seem like that’s all your money goes towards. Trying to find ways to save money is important these days, so that’s why the used sporting equipment has become so popular in recent years. But there are some things to keep in mind when purchasing used sporting goods and fitness equipment.

Brand name

When it comes to sporting and fitness equipment, buying brand name will usually save you money in the long run. Buying cheaper equipment usually results in a lower quality item that is cheaply made and more likely to break down than a well-known brand.

Is it a good deal?

If you’re buying used equipment to save money, it’s important to know if what you’re getting is actually a good deal. This may be hard to know unless you have something exact to compare what you’re planning to purchase with, and if it’s used there’s nothing exactly like it out there. You’ll have to judge for yourself what type of shape the equipment is in, then go online to research the prices that others are selling this item for. Used merchandise can sometimes have negotiable prices, so keep in mind you can always make an offer if you feel the seller would be open to that.

Safe and sound

While purchasing items second-hand may save you money, you need to be careful about choosing which items to buy used and which you should probably just shell out the money for new. Most used sporting equipment is perfectly fine, and will perform just as well for you as it did for its previous owners. However, when it comes to safety and protective items, it really is better safe than sorry.

Helmets

Because growing kids get bigger, most sporting equipment and clothing will need replaced many times over the course of their sports career. Helmets are not immune to being grown out of. This particular piece of equipment is extremely important to make sure its structural integrity is maintained, and that’s not always something that is visible to the naked eye. You wouldn’t want anything to happen to your child’s head, after all that is why you have them wear helmets in the first place, right? So, don’t gamble on a used helmet. It’s really not worth the money you would save if something goes wrong with the helmet and your child gets injured.

Footwear

If you are able to personally handle and inspect used footwear before buying it, then you may be okay with purchasing used. However, if you are purchasing online, buyer beware. Especially when purchasing shoes, cleats and ice skates. Support is the first thing to decline with daily wear and tear, so don’t purchase used footwear if it shows significant signs of wear. Eyeballing and handling used footwear is the most important thing you can do when factoring whether to buy used or not. Along with diminished support, you should also check for the outer shell on hockey skates since that will be important in offering protection against pucks, sticks and other skate blades.

Pads

If pads have lost some of their protective cushion, or the outer shell has been cracked, chances are they don’t truly offer much protection anymore. Remember that pads take a pretty good beating in contact sports like football, therefore it may be a good idea to invest in new, cushy equipment.

Softball/Baseball Bats

Bats are more expensive than you may think, but trying to save money may cost you lost performance. Bats lose their effectiveness over time and usage, so make sure you inspect them for dents, bends or other damage before purchasing one used.

How to Clean and Deodorize Hockey Pads, Football Pads

Whether you are a soccer mom, a hockey mom, a young athlete or a seasoned veteran, you understand firsthand how awful sports equipment odor can smell. For years you’ve accepted the fact that you have to live with this equipment smelling up your garage, or that you have to feel uncomfortable in your own pads because they smell so bad. You’re in luck – there are several solutions to your problem. Some solutions work very well, while other solutions are much less effective. Below are the most popular ways athletes and professional equipment managers take care of their equipment.

Vapor Fresh
Vapor Fresh is the single-best solution for smelly sports pads. Vapor Fresh is a sports equipment cleaning and deodorizing spray based on all-natural active ingredients. Your equipment will smell great simply by spraying Vapor Fresh onto your pads and letting them dry. Vapor Fresh is a quick, affordable, instantaneous and effective solution to foul-smelling sports equipment that is trusted by professional, collegiate and amateur athletes alike. Vapor Fresh can be sprayed on almost all types of sports equipment, from chest protectors and shoulder pads, to cleats and sports bags.

Air-drying
Some athletes choose to air-dry their equipment. Air-drying involves giving pads plenty of fresh air and room to breathe immediately after wearing them prior to putting them back in a sports bag or locker. Although this method is simple, it is very time-consuming and does not eliminate the odor nearly as well as other methods.

Jumping in pool
May sound odd, but some athletes choose to put on only their equipment that will not get damaged by water and jump into a pool. Apparently the Chlorine in the pool water can help briefly neutralize the equipment odor. This method is rarely used, and is one we do not endorse. The main problem with this method is that it does not treat all equipment, since things like hockey skates and cleats cannot go into the pool. This method is also not very effective at deodorizing. Jumping in a pool with pads on may be fun, but it could be dangerous and it will not remove the odor like Vapor Fresh and other sprays.

Chemical-based cleaning sprays
Vapor Fresh is the leading sports equipment cleaning spray, but there are other options as far as sprays to deodorize your sports equipment. Other sports equipment sprays contain harsh chemicals such as Chlorine and artificial fragrances, which can be irritating and uncomfortable. Cleaning sprays not specifically meant for sports equipment can leave sticky residue or give the athlete terrible rashes. These chemicals are not a good option when it comes to cleaning your sports pads. Instead, opt for a sports equipment cleaning spray based on all-natural active ingredients.

Conclusion: Vapor Fresh is the best option to clean and deodorize sports pads
When the odor from your sports equipment is too much to handle and you are looking for a solution, there is only one safe bet – Vapor Fresh. With its all-natural active ingredients, numerous happy customers ranging from individual athletes to large professional football and hockey programs, and sport-specific formulation, you are sure to love the results.
